Where does the time go?

I look up - and it's tomorrow already.  Well, you know what I mean.  I'm beginning to feel like I need to either stay up extra long or spend a full day sleeping just to get back on track with the rest of the world.  It's like I'm operating with perpetual jet lag.

Long day

It seems like my days are more full than ever, with less down time where I can just relax.  I've only got 38-1/2 weeks of school left.  I've been going nonstop now for just over 4 years and I'm tired.

What's with all the water?

No sooner does the leak inside the house stop, than Hermine decides to drop more than 4.5" of rain (and still counting!)  I'm done with all this water.

So, the water leak appears to be contained

If we wake up tomorrow and everything is still dry, I'll cancel the appointment with the plumber.  Luckily, it looks like there was no real damage except a bit of superficial damage under the sink in the counter.  Nothing major though that I can see.

Water leaks - oh my!

So we wake up this morning to find that the sink in the bathroom is leaking - and has been all night apparently.  I put in a service call to the home warranty company and they assigned a plumber to come out.  Of course, it's Sunday and tomorrow is a holiday, so I don't expect a call until Tuesday.  In the meantime the leak stopped...go figure.

Got my new boxes today, and while in the bank, two of the tellers recognized my son as being the "boy who collects foreign coins".  Apparently they've started saving them up all week for him.  He loves it!

So - just how does a eurocent from Germany make it all the way to Texas anyway?  And once it does, how does it make through all the coin counters and sorters to wind up in a box from Brinks?  It's not even close to the same size as a penny after all.  Oh well - I'll take it!

Ok, now I sound like an old commercial for Morton's salt - now I'm showing my age :-)

So, now the wheat pennies just keep coming - but I can't find any old nickels.  Oh well, I'm still having fun and that's what matters I suppose.

Wheats are getting scarcer by the day it seems

I can remember a time when I would find a wheat penny every 2 or 3 rolls I searched.  Now it's more like one in every 20 to 30 rolls.

Everyone is starting to get into the groove of going back to school - which just means everyone is getting into bed earlier.  Happy Birthday Mom!

Everyone went to bed early tonight

School is taking its toll - everyone (except me) went to bed early tonight.  I think the kids were asleep before their heads hit their pillows.  It'll take a little while to adjust, and as soon as it happens, it will be time for the holidays.  Seems like something is always going on.

And so everyone settles into their routine

Everyone's back in school - and the new routines are being put into place.  The kids hate going to bed earlier so they can get up in time for school.  Meanwhile, the parents wish they had a few more hours of sleep.  Youth is so wasted on the young.

First day of school

Boy were the kids excited this morning!  Both were up bright and early and ready to go.  They had a great day and can't wait to go back tomorrow.

The last day before school starts

Everyone had a nice, relaxing day today.  After church, we had lunch at a Chinese buffet.  Then everyone slowed down for a nice little nap - no one really fell asleep though.  After that it was time to wash the dog in the backyard.  I'm not sure who got more wet - the dog or the kids.  Dinner was spaghetti.  Sort of like the condemned man's last meal, I suppose; but the kids loved it.  No one wanted to fall asleep.

It's Saturday - so there must be new boxes

Pretty good start so far.  My son picked up three more foreign coins at the bank - I think that's the only reason he goes with me.  I found an almost pristine 1964-D, it just has a small, but noticeable, carbon spot on the front.  It's still better than the one it is replacing.
